Term & Conditions for Tutors:

Agreement

 

The information in these Terms and Conditions is based on the verbal agreement between you and the Agency. If there is any discrepancy, please call us immediately.

Confidentiality

 

The information you supply to us is completely confidential.

Commissions

 

It is a Standard practice in Singapore that the commission paid to Tuition Agencies is 50% of the first four weeks' (or equivalent) tuition fees. Agencies may negotiate lower commissions for very short-term tuition assignment. However, tutors have no authority to change the commissions or tuition fees in any way without the knowledge of the Agency in the first month.

Disputes

 

Disputes between parents/students and tutor are rare. However, we will use our goodwill offices to help resolve any disputes that may arise. We can't make any guarantees, but we will do our best to resolve the dispute.

Tutor Responsibilities

A

“First Impression Count”. Remember that students and their parents will judge you by your appearance. Be smartly dressed! Remember, a smile is worth a thousand words!

B

Show your highest qualification to the parents during your first lesson. This is to avoid them from making the wrong judgment.

C

Punctuality. Be at least 5 to 8 minutes early. In the past, many tutors were terminated due to punctuality issues.

D

Record the time ‘in & out’ in a booklet for the student to sign. This is to avoid lost of payment due to missed calculation. It happened in many cases.

E

Always be prepared for each lesson. Keep up with the latest school syllabus.

F

Most parents will prefer Tutors to provide worksheets & model answers for their children.

G

Parents expect regular progress reports. Make a point of spending a few minutes each week to discuss the child’s progress with the parent.

H

If you have to change or re-arrange a lesson please let the student or parent know well advance – at least 24 hours ahead if possible. Don’t leave it until the last minute.

I

Do not forsake the student when his / her examinations are drawing near. You need to help the student until the examination is over.

J

Keep the phone numbers of both parents & student accessible in a booklet or cellphone.

K

Failure to turn up for the given & accepted assignment.
It is fair for you to inform the Agency immediately; otherwise it is fair for the Agency to bill you of the lost commission, that is, 50% of the four weeks assignment fee.

L

Inform Stanford Tuition: Tel: 6729-2426. Keep this Phone Nbr in your Cellphone.
·         If you are in any way treated unfairly.
·         Be committed to the tuition assignment for at least ONE month. An administration fee of $50 will be imposed if you failed to do so.

M

If you foresee that you are going to be more than 10 minutes late for lessons then it courteous to let the student or parent know in advance.

N

If you are going through a topic with the student, and you see that the lesson time is complete, spend a few minutes to finish what you are doing. Don’t finish the lesson abruptly in mid-topic!

O

Please remember to speak proper English.

Service

 

FREE Service to all parents/students. In future, it may charge.

Payment of Commission (Deduct from Tutor Tuition Fee)

 

Upon completion of the 2nd lesson or (4th lesson for the two lessons per week), you pay 50% of the tuition fees to the Agency (per Invoice). This is the Agency’s commission. Payment can be made by: (a) Cheque (b) ATM Fund Transfers (c) Internet Fund Transfers.
The remaining 50% of the tuition fees is to be paid directly to the tutor at the end of the 4th lesson or (8th lesson for two lessons per week). For all subsequent 4 weeks, you pay the tutor 100% of the tuition fees.

Tutor’s qualification

 

Please view the Tutor’s highest qualification during the first lesson. This is to avoid from making the wrong judgment.

Replacement of Tutor

 

If for any reason you wish to replace the tutor, you can call: 6729 2426 for the replacement. If it is within the 1st month, parent will have to pay the pro-rated tuition fees based on the number of lessons conducted. You will pay 50% of the pro-rated fees to Tutor & 50% of the pro-rated fees to our Agency.

Un-reasonable Termination of Agreed Tuition Services

 

If for any reason you wish to terminate the tuition services before the first 4 lessons once per week or (8 lessons for 2 lessons per week), you have to pay an administration fee of S$50.

Record the Time ‘in & out’

 

Record the time ‘in & out’ in a booklet for the Tutor to sign. This is to avoid miss calculation. It happened in many cases.
